The Tax Authority Launches "Fieldwork Week" to Enhance Compliance Across Governorates

The General Directorate of Tax Compliance at the Tax Authority, in collaboration with its affiliated tax compliance sections in the governorates organized a "Fieldwork Week". This campaign aims to support taxpayers and ensure the efficient implementation of tax legislation.
The campaign objectives focus on three main pillars, reflecting the Tax Authority's commitment to enhancing transparency and compliance: raising the level of tax compliance among all taxpayers, fostering direct communication to provide necessary guidance and support to the business sector, and verifying tax adherence and applying the applicable laws and legislation.
Starting from this week, the field compliance teams are covering a wide range of vital economic activities, focusing on the following sectors in the targeted governorates:
The Tax Compliance Section in Al Batinah South Governorate will target various sectors, including: gold and jewelry shops, law offices, real estate development activities, restaurants and cafes, tailoring of clothing and abayas, shopping centers, petrol stations, domestic worker recruitment offices, spare parts and scrap (junk), building materials, health supplies, crushers, and concretes.
While in Al Batinah North and Al Buraimi governorates, the focus will be on service and commercial centers, such as: medical centers and clinics, commercial centers, libraries, gold shops and building material suppliers, restaurants, tobacco shops, beauty shops, and women's salons.
Mr. Tamim Al Khawaldi, Director of the Tax Compliance Department for the Governorates, emphasized that this field campaign comes as a "continuation of the series of awareness campaigns conducted by the Tax Authority in cooperation with the departments in the branches, and coincides with the end of the tax year. Al Khawaldi added: the primary objective is to assist taxpayers to adhere to the tax provisions and legislation, submit their tax returns by the specified deadlines, and fulfill all their tax obligations to ensure the soundness of their legal status.
